Here's a list of our regular Children's programming. For all upcoming Avondale Public Library programming and events, please view the Online Calendar of Events. Programs run as scheduled except for holidays.

Babies & Books (0-24 months)
Help promote your baby’s early development through books, music and finger play activities by joining us for this fun lap-sit program. *On hiatus in August.
Mondays 10:15am

Come & Play with Me (Ages 0-5)
Join our weekly open-play group where children can grow their social skills by playing and exploring together. 
Wednesdays 11:00am 

Toddler Time (Ages 18-36 Months)

An action packed story time for toddlers, ages 18 – 36 months and their favorite adult. This highly interactive program encourages emerging language skills through books, songs, rhymes and movement play. *On hiatus in August.
Mondays 11:15am 

STEAM Spot (Ages 8-12)
Interactive after school programs that explore the ideas behind STEAM - science, technology, engineering, arts, and math! *On hiatus in June, July, and August. Replaced by Summer Crafting Fun in June and July.
Wednesdays 2:00 - 3:00pm

Discovery! STEAM for Preschoolers (Ages 3-5)
Preschoolers will learn about the world around them through hands-on science, technology, engineering, art or math activities. *On hiatus in August.
1st Tuesday of the Month 10:15am & 11:15am

United Way Sotrytime (Ages 0-5)

Each program will have stories, songs and a craft; the first 25 children will receive a FREE book of their own. *On hiatus June, July, and August. Will be replaced by Family Storytime in June and July.
First Thursday of the Month 11:15am & 1:00pm

United Way Storytime (Ages 0-5)

Each program will have stories, songs and a craft; the first 25 children will receive a FREE book of their own. *On hiatus in June, July, and August. Will be replaced by Family Storytime in June and July. 
2nd Tuesday of the Month 10:15am & 11:15am

Family Story Time (Ages 2-6) 
Interactive story time packed with songs, rhymes, flannel stories and finger plays! We’ll share fun stories with simple storylines and predictable plots that will support developing literacy. *On hiatus in August.

Preschool Storytime (Ages 3-5)
This interactive program will feature longer books and a variety of activities such as songs, finger plays and skill building activities needed to get your child ready for kindergarten.  *Will be replaced by Family Storytime in June and July. On hiatus in August.
2nd & 3rd Tuesday of the Month 11:00am

More 2 Explore (Ages 6-12)
Are you curious about how things work? Join this fun interactive program where we’ll build structures, perform experiments, play games, make crafts, and ask great questions.  *On hiatus in August.
