Civic Center Library and Sam Garcia Library will both be offering Family Storytime programs for ages 2-7 during the months of June and July. Some programs will include All Ages special performers and will be highlighted as such.

Discovery! STEM is DINO-MITE

Dinosaur themed lessons on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math! Learn the difference between herbivores vs. carnivores. Study fossils and create one to take home. Help build a volcano and watch the eruption of lava! Count the types of dinosaurs and measure the feet or tail of a Velociraptor.

3,2,1 Blast Off!
Let's Blast Off into summer reading! Join us for storytime, then join us in various activities about outer space!





 June 11th - ALL AGES
Craig Davis Magic & Juggling Show
Craig Davis masterfully performs to children and adults alike, firing imaginations, and allowing them to create magic right beside him. His fast-moving, energetic presentation includes amazing magic, unbelievable juggling, and even a trained parrot! Craig draws everyone in, while weaving into his performance the theme: “When you read you can learn anything, even magic."

Star Wars Storytime
Join us for a trip to a galaxy far far away! This galactic adventure will include stories and activites to engage your little jedi knight!

Do they or don't they wear them? Come find out at our silly storytime.

Aliens from Outer Space

Join us as we read stories about creatures from outer space and make our own spaceship craft.

June 27th
Mother Goose - Reach for the Stars
Join our special guest, Mother Goose as she storytells, entertains and reaches for the stars!
July 2nd - ALL AGES
"The Jungle Book" performed by The Hampstead Stage
Rudyard Kipling’s novel, The Jungle Book, comes to life as Mowgli embarks on an adventure in the jungle. Through the use of puppets and masks, we meet Baloo and Bagheera, who guide Mowgli on his journey. Mowgli must escape from Kaa, the python, and defeat Shere Khan, the tiger. Join us on a daring quest, discovering the importance of family and good versus evil.

Discovery! Mission to Mars

Engineering design challenge will focus on Mars Rovers and satellites to send information back to earth! Create messages to send to Houston and learn about current NASA projects you can work on as a family.

Superhero Training Camp
Come and meet Super Jesse as she shares her superpowers with you, reading awesome books! Then, test your skills and see if you got what it takes to be a superhero. t forget to come dressed as your favorite superhero.

Back to School Storytime
Join us for a fun school themed storytime! Your little one ages 3-5 can receive a free school readiness backpack with attendance and a free book, courtesy of VSUW.


July 23rd
Astronaut Storytime
Have you ever wanted to be an astronaut and explore space? Join us for Astronaut Storytime and even get to watch a real astronaut read a book in space!

July 25th

Participate in a variety of STEM demonstrations with Chief Science Officers!


July 30th

Let's Make Music

Join us for an hour of music and rhythm! We'll read, sing, dance and make our own instrument after the program.
