2026: Celebrating Avondale's 80th Anniversary
This December, the City of Avondale will proudly mark 80 years since its incorporation in 1946, honoring eight decades of growth, service, and community pride.
For this year's bookmark contest, students are invited to design a bookmark that celebrates the City's history.

Guidelines
-You must use the theme “Avondale’s 80 Years.”
-Contest is open to kindergarten to 12th grade students who live or go to school in Avondale, AZ.
-One entry per person. Late entries will not be accepted.
-Bookmarks are judged on originality, design, and reproducibility by City of Avondale staff.
-Original art only. Do not trace or use copyrighted images such as cartoon characters. The design process should be completed independently, without assistance from adults.
-No computer-generated or AI art. Hand drawn only, please.
-Make sure colors are filled in and solid (especially with crayons or colored pencils). Avoid fluorescent or neon colors.
-This box on the submission sheet is the exact size of the bookmark. Do not enlarge or reduce the size.
-Any markings outside the box will not be used in the final design.
